Giving YOUNG PEOPLE opportunities to explore and experience STEM in a unique and virtual way.
We offer experiences designed to raise awareness, and inform young people how STEM is relevant, interesting and leads to a rewarding career. Throughout the experiences, young people have the opportunity to work on hands-on challenges, work towards the nationally recognised Industrial Cadets accreditation whilst interacting with STEM professionals and educators. We strive to ensure that all young people can access these opportunities and financial support is available for those who need it.

Experiences for under 13 year olds


Challenger Experience
Bring STEM subjects to life with hands-on workshops themed around the topics that your pupils care about, supported by some of the most innovative STEM companies, global industries, and pioneering startups to give real-world context to their learning.

Day/half day STEM experience delivered in school

FunSTEM experience
FunSTEM is an exciting STEM project where pupils will take on the role of scientists and entrepreneurs to complete a project including a research and design workbook, creating a poster and building a model.

Available in Scotland only P6 - P7
Structure
4-6 week in school project with a primary to secondary transition element

One class (or multiple classes from a cluster of primary schools feeding into one secondary school)

Experiences for 13-16 year olds

Routes into STEM Experience

Virtual
Here is an exciting opportunity to explore the various routes you can take towards your STEM career. This course is designed to give insight into pathways following GCSEs or Nat 5 and Highers, including study routes via colleges, & university and direct apprenticeship routes through industry. This inspiring course is run during half terms and school holidays. Young people will be able to work through activities and projects at their own pace, tour a variety of institutions virtually and also have access to live career sessions and mentor panels with STEM employers.

Routes into STEM Experience
Face to Face

Routes into STEM is a 3-day taster course for Year 10 students providing valuable experience to help understand the different routes available into further STEM education and career pathways. It includes a day spent in a college, a day in a university and a day with a local employer.

Insight into University Experience

Virtual
Insight into University is a comprehensive on-line course allowing students to experience STEM studies at university and the career opportunities that these subjects lead to. It will provide access to information on student life, STEM projects and activities set by leading UK universities and global STEM companies, first year undergraduate lectures, live interactive sessions with academics, admissions tutors, employers and current students

Insight into University Experience
Residential

Insight into University residential courses (previously known as Headstart) are summer schools run over 4 or 5 days where students get a taster of university life and an insight into a specific STEM subject. Students will get the opportunity to experience university style lectures and work on activities and group projects with the support of academics and student mentors. Students will stay in halls of residence and will take part in social activities in the evenings.
