Zenisha Peterkin
Student

“With EDTs inspiration and support as a female engineer, I genuinely feel empowered to take on a career in engineering. And I think without EDTs support, I never would have had the confidence to apply for jobs that I didn't think I was qualified to apply for."

Mohammed Choudhury
Engineer at Frazer-Nash Consultancy

"Having the opportunity to mentor the next generation of aspiring engineers was a great experience for my leadership and managing skills and to see the rapid development of these students over the past year was an honour."

Hector MacAulay
Managing Director of Balfour Beatty

"By engaging with EDT and the Industrial Cadets programme, we have a way of getting the message across to young people that genuinely inspires them that this is a real career. We need to get beyond the generational challenge that mum and dad's perception of a STEM industry is not what the world of work really looks like."

Juhie Radia
Student

“The reason Industrial Cadets is so important to me is because it helped me in my career to actually become work ready. For young people or anyone who's thinking about joining, I definitely recommend it because it gives you skills such as public speaking, networking, and also the opportunity to enter a career and your life with a lot more confidence than you otherwise would have.”

Wayne Tullett
Teacher at Wath Academy

“We've taken part in the project for a number of years and the students have found it a really rewarding experience. It's a fantastic opportunity and it gives the students plenty of experiences to see what's out there outside of school such as working with the mentors and gaining real world experiences from the trips that we've done visiting Liberty Steel.”
