For all small and large employers

For young people aged 9-21+

For schools, colleges and universities

Connecting young people, educators, partners and employers across the UK

EDT are a nationwide educational charity set up over 35 years ago engaging young people through STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) focused experience days, projects and placements. We help young people develop the STEM skills, knowledge and experience they need to take control of their futures and change the world around them.

Our Industrial Cadets accredited programmes and awards provide opportunities through education to employment, aiming to give students aged 9-21 across the UK access to an Industrial Cadets programme, which provides them with the opportunity to develop critical skills for a career in STEM.

We are delighted to share with you our transformation video showing how we have adapted and transformed over the last 18 months, continuing to support young people on their STEM journey.

EDT and Industrial Cadets become Friends of The Queen’s Green Canopy

We are pleased to announce our Friendship agreement with The Queen’s Green Canopy. The relationship will engage young people and ignite their natural interest in their local environment. As part of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, students will be inspired through Industrial Cadets to plant trees across the UK.

Following a great response to our Chairperson recruitment earlier this year and after interviewing a really strong field of candidates, we are delighted to announce that Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon will be appointed as the new Chair of the Board and will formally take post from July 2021.

We link industry with education through STE(A)M experiences, projects and placements. Whether you want to connect with young people through outreach programmes, support them on their learner journey, or hire an apprentice or graduate, we can make it easier for you to reach out to young talent

Throughout the past six months, we have been working closely with our stakeholders to offer new ways of engaging and learning. By adapting our existing programmes, as well as creating new virtual experiences for young people, we continue to work towards fulfilling our vision of providing access and opportunities for all young people.

Opportunities for young people are out there: the problem is that many don’t have the support to access them. Our vision is to ensure young people develop the skills, experience and connections they need to enter the workplace and build the bright futures they deserve. Without the fantastic contributions of fundraisers, we would not be able to continue our essential work.

"Even though it was different to what was initially instore, I feel you have adapted incredibly well to the changes.  I have still been able to complete the course to gain information to support me and my future choices"
