This company operates distributing and connecting gas and electricity to millions of homes and businesses through its network across the UK.  The company has been at the forefront of the journey to achieve net zero emissions currently seeking a bright enthusiastic student to support the Communication Team.

 

Discipline

Pre-university or undergraduate planning to study/currently studying for a degree related to Cyber Security, data or IT.

 

Activities and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be working with an international energy company that owns and operates electricity transmission and distribution networks in Central and Southern Scotland, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Shropshire and North & Mid Wales. This company keeps the power flowing to around 3.5m homes and businesses, it operates in a government regulated environment with targets set by the UK regulator Ofgem and is central to delivering the UK’s Net Zero ambitions to tackle climate change. The company has supported award winning Year in Industry students for many years with great success stories.

 

Key Accountabilities

You will play a key role in the communications team to develop and execute exciting integrated internal and external communications plans on key business activities (ranging from employee engagement and recognition, to showcasing innovation and supporting the external brand, awareness and safety campaigns).

 

You will support the development and production of supporting communication materials and event management, ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and effective communications to a range of audiences, measuring to evaluate the success of your campaigns to help achieve key business objectives.

 

 

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a network of stakeholders and work with message owners, business contacts and user groups, ensuring that internal and external communications are effective and meet user requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to encourage a consistent approach to managing business content updates and to maintain control of, and look and feel of, social media, internal portal and website.
  • Collect data to measure, evaluate and report on the success of all communication channels to ensure communications are of a high quality, effective and delivered to agreed timescales and budget.
  • Create and develop consistent multimedia communication content and stories that can be published across a wide range of communication channels, with a particular focus on social media platforms.
  • Benchmark innovative and leading-edge communications solutions using new technology to establish and cultivate a contemporary communication culture.
  • Work as part of the Communications team across the Company to share information, knowledge and experience.
  • Creation of operational reports and coordination of the communication programme planner.

 

Critical Factors

Should have a reasonable business/marketing & communications acumen awareness/knowledge and good knowledge of MS Office and Social Media.

 

Experience

Ideally the person would have had a part time job previously to demonstrate business/communications practices and awareness.
