COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Being part of a leading global design consultancy firm, the Warrington Rail team are currently working on the world’s most high-profile, challenging and transformative projects. The office is delivering challenging sections of HS2 with multiple stakeholders and engineering disciplines including structures, earthworks, highways, drainage, environment and landscaping. The team has a long and successful history of taking on Year in Industry Students and enhancing their skills. Many of our past students have received bursaries at university, return to the company for summer placements and then go on to full-time graduate positions.

 

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The successful applicant will provide general assistance to structures engineering team. They will gain insight into large projects and take on important roles within them. This may include carrying out 3D modelling in the BIM environment, producing project documentation, undertaking design calculations, completing site surveys, attending meetings and other project-based tasks. The applicant will be in a fantastic environment with the opportunity to be mentored by specialist engineers and receive excellent experience which will complement their future studies.

 

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Your intended or actual degree will be Civil Engineering/General Engineering/Structural Engineering. The chosen candidate will have an enthusiasm for the industry and a strong maths and physics academic record, ICT literate and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as being able to use their own initiative.
