RAF Charitable Trust Celebrate 163k Industrial Cadets Experiences as Partnership Enters Third Year

We are delighted to announce that the RAF Charitable Trust will continue as Headline Partner of Industrial Cadets for a third consecutive year, reaffirming a shared commitment to inspiring young people and opening doors to opportunities in STEM.

The renewed partnership builds on two years of collaboration, during which the RAF Charitable Trust has supported our work to engage young people with STEM subjects and help them explore the wide range of careers available across industry, reaching a staggering 163,339 Industrial Cadets experiences.

Over the past year, the partnership has achieved 73,339 Industrial Cadets experiences and more than 18,000 Industrial Cadets Challenger Awards, demonstrating the scale of young people's engagement with the programme.

The RAF Charitable Trust's continued support reflects the importance of sustained investment in STEM engagement, helping young people discover opportunities they may not otherwise have considered, including pathways into engineering, aerospace and technology.

With demand for future STEM talent continuing to shape industries across the UK, partnerships between education charities and organisations committed to inspiring young people play an important role in connecting education with the world of work.

Julie Feest, Chief Executive of EDT and Industrial Cadets, said, “Every young person should have the opportunity to see where their interests could take them, whatever their background or circumstances. Through Industrial Cadets, we help bring STEM to life, introduce young people to industry and give them the confidence to consider futures they may not previously have imagined.

“We are incredibly grateful to the RAF Charitable Trustfor its continued support in helping us make these opportunities possible.”

Dr Kevin P Stenson, Director of the RAF Charitable Trust commented, “At the RAF Charitable Trust, we believe that young people lack opportunity, not ambition. Through our partnership with EDT and Industrial Cadets, we are helping to unlock potential by providing meaningful STEM experiences that build confidence, develop essential skills and broaden horizons.

"The achievement of more than 163,000 Industrial Cadets experiences demonstrates both the scale of young people's enthusiasm for STEM and the impact that can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared purpose. We are proud to continue supporting a programme that helps young people explore opportunities in air, space, and technology.

"By investing in STEM engagement today, we can help more young people access the education, employment and training they deserve, while strengthening the future talent pipeline on which the UK's prosperity, innovation and strategic defence capability depend."

The third year of the partnership will continue to support the wider ambition of Industrial Cadets, to inspire young people through meaningful experiences, celebrate their achievements and help them explore pathways towards future study and employment.
