Swansea Students Enjoy STEM Sustainability Workshop at University
Students from across Swansea have taken part in an innovation and sustainability workshop delivered by EDT at Swansea University.
The students enjoyed a jam-packed day of activities learning about climate change, sustainable design and the environmental heritage of South Wales. The workshop also allowed the students to work together to design and create sustainable structures, providing insight into a range of STEM industries and careers.
Julie Feest, Chief Executive EDT explained, “Our aim is to provide vital insight and opportunities to help young people explore the exciting world of STEM. We’re delighted to be supporting so many students across South Wales. Thank you to all our dedicated corporate partners and mentors that supported us on the day.”
Swansea University and TFI Network+ sponsored the event, which also provided guest speakers including Tata Steel, Vale Clydach Nickel Refinery and EFT Consulting.
Becky Waldram, Impact & Engagement Manager at Swansea University commented, “This event was a fantastic opportunity to bring together students from local schools to learn about the significance of industry in South Wales, and how it's adapting to become more sustainable. The practical activities provided a tangible link for the students between their classroom-based lessons and the creativity needed to deliver real-world projects.”
