EDT/ Year in Industry Awards 2019: Recognising the outstanding contributions of midlands placement students to their host companies.
Congratulations to the two winners of the Midlands Contribution to the Business Awards 2019. Diego Ignacio Lopez and Amanda Mucke de Almeida e Silva, both completed placements with Rolls-Royce Plc, stormed ahead of some fierce competition to snag the two winners’ slots. They will be invited to join us at a prestigious showcase event hosted by the RAE, in London in September in conjunction with our Headstart Program.
The additional 6 participating finalists who joined us to give their presentations to a panel of external judges at The Birmingham Research Park on the 10th of June 2019 were:
Charlotte Promell representing Network Rail, Mamtha Chandrasekaran and Georgina Coulthread on placements with Meggitt Airframe Systems and from Rolls-Royce Plc: Edward Jones, Thomas Stuart-Delavine and Umar-Faruk Mangera.
Thank you to the colleagues, parents and mentors who joined us in the celebration, and we are particularly grateful to our panel of volunteer judges: Nigel Marris MD at AES, Susan Guest – Consultant, Scott Winter from Gardner Aerospace, Michael Shuster and Christopher Gray from Arup.
