An established designer and manufacturer of both standard and configurable AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies with a world wide distribution network. Seeking an ICT/ computing or technically minded candidate to join them to help drive an on-going project
Description Of Role:
To work on ICT/ Data projects in support of the mechanical Engineering Department. This is an on-going project
The main project :
To move away from the VB6 application to a web application ( VB.net/ASP.net)
Operator log in enabling access rights for various functions depending on security level
Full connection to LN to automatically populate fields thus to reduce user input time
Full access to test and AOI results
better more efficient data logging enabling easier and quicker analysis. Switch to SQL from Access- now currently logging to SQL in parallel to Access
better connectivity to current traceability tables
To document all production software (location, process etc)
The potential candidate will be studying or intending to study an appropriate ICT/ computing discipline and would need to be able to program using SQL server, VB.net / AST.net and ODBC , They will need to use Microsoft Office and be familiar with the structure of directories in various Microsoft operating systems.
Training will be provided on the job for candidates with the right background and aptitudes
The office is located within walking/ cycling distance of Ilfracombe town centre. Ample car parking on-site. Potential for graduate opportunities.
