Knowledge and experience (will be developed in the job role if not held)
 Application of signal processing techniques to analyse sonar data
 Use of signal processing software to implement and test sonar processing chains
 Modelling of acoustic propagation in the ocean
 Simulation of naval equipment, tactics and their interactions with other equipment and the environment
 Software coding (e.g. C, C++, matlab, python)
 Assist in design of sonar transducer design and development
 Perform mathematical modelling of acoustic designs
 Experimentation, test and evaluation of sonar devices
 Contribute to written reports and design documentation
 Application of engineering process and safe systems of work
 Assist with team administration

Qualifications and skills
 Undertaking or enrolled on STEM degree
 Good A-Levels in STEM subjects
 Interest in development of new technology
Successful candidate would be expected to be involved in one or more of the following areas (+ general activities). Candidates are not expected to be experienced in all these areas but must have an interest in developing these skills.

Year in Industry / Placement intake planned for September 2020.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve full SC (Security Clearance).
