Looking for an Electronics/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Undergraduate 

 

Background

The ‘Company’ has reviewed its systems of time booking, project planning and resource management and, after considering several commercially available software platforms, has decided to progress a solution based on Microsoft Project. Its significant advantage is that it builds on software familiar to the Institute research community e.g. Office 365, Sharepoint.

A project execution plan has been formulated for the specification, configuration, testing, evaluation, development and roll-out of MS project in 2021.

Due to internal work commitments, additional resource is required to ensure delivery to meet the set timescales.

 

Requirements

. To assist with virtual interviews with clients comprising researchers, research group managers, account managers and resource managers

. To assist in the production of a functional design specification matching the user requirements to the delivered software product. This will include the definition of each software user group comprising MS Project Essential, Professional and Premium software licence users.

. To assist in the production of functional design test scripts comprising software configuration and testing requirements

. To assist in the factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the software

. To assist in the documentation of the FAT testing and any software re-testing

. To address software development issues as they arise

. To assist in the production of the commissioning plan for roll-out of MS Project across the Institute. This will include site acceptance testing (SAT) for each user group.

. To assist in training of MS Project

. To assist in the follow-up interviews with clients to ensure that the software has met the requirements specification

. To assist in the post-execution benefits review

 

Competencies

The candidate will have good IT skills.

Familiarity with Microsoft Project would be an advantage.

The candidate should have experience in the delivery of software projects.
