DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The position is an R&D role and will be based at the European Technology Centre at Lathom. You will join the Thin Film technology group, where you will work as part of a project team developing new coated products. You will deposit coatings using chemical vapour deposition and then use a variety of measurement techniques to characterise the optical, electrical and mechanical properties of the coatings you have made. You will normally work in teams, although there will also be an opportunity to work on your own project.
We are looking for a talented student who is planning to study Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science at University and expects to achieve a minimum of BBB at A level including maths and a physical science. A genuine interest in Science and a desire to work in an industrial research and development environment are essential. The site is not served by public transport, so a means of transport is essential.
