The role

They’re recruiting for an exciting role in our Brand & Marketing team to work across a variety of projects and channels which are central to telling the company’s story and promoting the brand as a leading, sustainable energy company.  You will be working across a broad spectrum of marketing projects including brand development and activation, integrated campaign development and delivery, content creation and design, partnerships, sponsorships, and events. You will also work closely with colleagues across the wider Corporate Affairs department including Digital, Internal Communications, Media, Policy, Regulation and Government Affairs as well as with teams from across the wider the company’s business areas. About you

The placement is open to recent graduates and undergraduates, ideally, you’ll have studied marketing, advertising, communications, or a related course. 

 

They’re looking for someone with a keen interest in marketing and its associated disciplines as this role really will provide exposure to a wide range of projects and who will be passionate in helping to tell our story; from the £12bn investment we are making in the UK and the thousands of jobs we are creating to build the low carbon energy system of the future, to the inspiring partners, communities, and staff we work with every single day. You might also have some knowledge or experience in social media, through modules studied at university or practical experience, such as volunteering or creating content for your own channels, which will also be useful in the role.

 

The role is based in Glasgow with a mix of home and office-based working and will involve attendance to attend filming and events to help gather content for our campaigns or to support the partnerships we work with, such as women’s football across Scotland.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • As part of a small and busy team, you will help to bring our brand story to life through:
  • Supporting the development and delivery of campaigns, including liaising with external agencies
  • Assisting with regular analysis of our campaigns, helping to prepare monthly reports and updates
  • Briefing and managing design projects with external agencies and in-house design placement
  • Providing support for creation of brand content across all channels

Supporting the brand team by filtering, directing, or responding to brand enquiries from across the group, liaising with global team in Madrid for guidance where required

  • Working on a project with the team explore and scope brand asset management platforms for the company
  • Monitoring and reporting on competitor activity to identify areas of risk and opportunity
  • Managing the weekly staff ballot process for football tickets to the company Women’s Premier League games
  • Supporting the development and ongoing activation of the partnership with Scottish Women’s Football and the Scottish Women’s Premier League, attending, and contributing to regular meetings, planning discussions and activation events.

 

Skills/Knowledge that would be useful in this role

They’re looking for someone with a keen interest in marketing and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided as required and there will be opportunities to upskill and gain experience across the wider communications mix.

 

  • A degree or qualification in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related discipline
  • Confident understanding of the marketing mix and channels including social media platforms and differences between them
  • A creative individual with a good standard of written English who can interrogate a brief or business problem.
  • Good communicator
  • Proficient in Microsoft package, including confident using excel and the ability to create attractive PowerPoint presentations.
  • Any experience in content creation is a bonus e.g. video editing, basic graphic design or photoshop skills, copywriting for social media, blogs and websites.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple initiatives at any point in time.
  • Basic awareness or experience of business practices
  • Excellent time-management and organisation skills
