The company is one of the UK leading Energy Network that operates across the UK providing the distribution of energy management systems to supply gas and electricity to its customers.

The role requires someone with multitasking skills to support the customer operations team to help ensure the level of customer service being provided by the company is in line to meet the UK energy regulatory body expectations.


You will be working alongside colleagues from across the company’s various departments joining a dynamic and committed team who are driven to help deliver high standards of customer service.


The Customer Business Regulation team is committed to supporting and protecting customers’ needs especially vulnerable customers facing affordability issues.

Vulnerability is a complex area to tackle due to economic pressures and is a key important focus in the energy regulatory sector.


The Company’s Customer Business Regulation team is at the heart of engagement internally and externally to ensure the regulatory framework, and the actions taken are aligned to meet customer needs.


The role itself is at times fun, challenging but also an exciting place to be at the heart of the activities that really matters as we work hard to provide a high standard of customer service.



Pre-university, undergraduate, graduates or planning to study/currently studying for a degree related to economics, law or another business discipline.


Activities and Responsibilities


a) Supporting the Regulation team within the company’s Customer Business on policy and regulatory analysis and support.


  • Managing and tracking industry/regulator/government consultations and other publications or information requests in areas such as affordability and vulnerability
  • Tracking of incoming consultation documents and information requests from the energy regulator and the wider energy industry (for example Energy UK)
  • Compiling summaries of the incoming documents to circulate to internal stakeholders
  •  Helping to arrange meetings with key internal stakeholders
  • Attending webinars on consultations and providing summaries to circulate.
  • Assisting with producing draft responses through:
  • o Undertaking desktop research and data analysis
  • o Helping to analyse and review data submissions
  • o Supporting evaluation of policy options and proposals.


b) Supporting the Company Customer Business operation in areas such as affordability and vulnerability


  • Undertaking research to understand the regulatory framework and produce written summaries to share
  • Helping to provide advice and guidance to support the Customer Business understand existing and new regulatory obligations and support its development of new products and services to its customers


c) Other support for regulatory and policy activities

  • Monitoring of other relevant industry publications and supporting the Regulation team share with internal stakeholders
  • Ad hoc research and analysis
  • Helping prepare PowerPoint presentations for external meetings
