This company transmit, distribute and connect electricity to and from millions of homes and businesses over our network and are at the forefront of the journey to net zero emissions. This exciting opportunity would place you onto the many engineering departments across the business where you will gain exposure and experience with the systems how the engineering team operate.

Successful candidates will work within one of the company’s sustainability departments and will gain exposure to various functions across the business daily operations.




Pre-university or undergraduate planning to study/currently studying for a degree related to either environmental compliance and management knowledge/area of study, or wider environmental sustainability (any of carbon management, sustainable resource use and waste minimisation, biodiversity protection and enhancement, supply chain sustainability).


Activities and Responsibilities

Our business departments have differing activities and responsibilities that would be aligned with your discipline of study/interest.


  • Calculating carbon, resource, waste, ecological and social impacts/footprints via the use of new tools and processes
  • Providing feedback and otherwise supporting the ongoing development of such tools and processes
  • Supporting community engagement to understand local environmental and social impacts and community needs and priorities
  • Working with local stakeholders, including landowners, to develop and implement environmental and social mitigation and enhancement aligned to local needs
  • Working with central functions including Environmental Planning, Sustainability Team, Net Zero Fund Team, Stakeholder Engagement Team

  • MS Office - In particular Teams, Excel & Powerpoint

  • Circular economy/sustainable resource use/waste minimisation
  • Biodiversity measurement and mitigation techniques
