This exciting opportunity would place you in one of our many engineering departments across our business where you will gain exposure and experience with the systems we use and how our engineering businesses operate.

 

You will be placed in one of our engineering departments such as; District offices, Engineering Design & standards, Low Voltage Support Room, Future Networks, Protection & Control or Licence Programmes.

 

Discipline

Pre-university or undergraduate planning to study/currently studying for a degree related to Engineering.

 

Activities and Responsibilities

You’ll take part in activities that shape the future - whilst learning key skills that will set you up for an enviable career. Our engineering departments have differing activities and responsibilities. You could be out on-site gaining an understanding of the different work we carry out, attending meetings with stakeholders or working on cross-departmental projects.

 

Examples of activities you may be involved in;

  • Gain an understanding of Distribution and Transmission Networks design and assets.
  • Assist in Networks performance reporting and technical networks monitoring.
  • Develop to support in New Digital Technology or New Visually monitoring systems
  • Undertake specific engineering project work commensurate with level of experience and skills
  • Collaborate with Engineers within the department to help update drawings on standard and digital projects to obtain standard schematic diagrams.
  • Manage tasks associated with the implementation of process improvement initiatives

 

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • MS Office - In particular Teams, Excel & Powerpoint

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • MS Office
  • Analytical skills e.g. spreadsheets
  • Good standard of written and verbal English
