Our customer is a multi-disciplined engineering consultancy and software channel partner, specialising in engineering simulation, technical safety and reliability engineering, with 45 permanent staff. They have the following opportunity for an undergraduate engineering student to join their company as a Technician for a period of 12 months working within the engineering simulation technical team.
The Technician role is important to the operation of the business as technician’s provide assistance to the wider engineering simulation team covering all aspects of technical project work in this discipline. You will be given an opportunity to develop your skills in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques focusing on Finite Element Methods (FEM), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the simulation of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding and metal forming.
This position offers an opportunity to develop both technical and commercial skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The position also offers an opportunity to work with the industry leading products, such as ANSYS, Moldex3D and DEFORM whilst working alongside an established team of professional engineers.
To have partially completed an engineering degree course, ideally in mechanical, aeronautical, automotive engineering or similar. This would be ideal for a 12 month student placement. The placement is to start end of July/beginning of August 2020.
The role is located in Stockport offering a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with 25 days plus 8 days statutory paid holidays per year. There is free off-road parking, pension scheme and flexi-time working.
