Salary - c £17 000 p/a
Location: Birmingham city centre
The role is to support the Fleet Management Group (FMG) of a well known rail franchise in their delivery of safe, clean and reliable trainsets.
We are looking for a student who has:-
Good A level (or equivalent) grades (or predicted grades), in STEM subjects; planning to study a STEM degree (Science, Technology/ ICT, Engineering or Mathematics) or business disciplines with an interest in this sector and advanced ICT skills.
Good working knowledge of basic computer packages (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
An awareness of general railway systems and terminology.
The successful candidate would gain experience in the:
Data Analysis, Engineering, Projects, Fleet Delivery and Commercial parts of the FMG by undertaking tasks or projects in each of these areas.
This is a chance to work in a small team and develop a range of skills. Will suit candidates planning study/ careers in a variety of disciplines: There is something for everyone in the role, from engineering, computing to business and the placement focus will be adapted accordingly.
The role is predominantly located at our Birmingham city centre offices but there will be an opportunity to travel to the trainset maintenance facilities of our Train Service Providers (Alstom & Bombardier) too.
