Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with multiple departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the company sites.
  • Deliver on tasks and expectations set by specific managers across site.
  • Implement, create, or edit SOPRAs, working procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in specific projects and assignments aimed at continuous improvement on site.
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of the operations, contracts, maintenance, finance, procurement, and compliance functions at the company and its sites.
  • Develop strong understanding of the management principles and practices applied within a waste-to-energy (WTE) facility.

 

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Conduct site tours and inspections to gain firsthand understanding of waste processing.
  • Assist the Operations team in monitoring and optimizing plant performance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability of plant equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Administrative team to source and manage materials and equipment for the sites.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and analysis to improve financial decision-making.
  • Support the Contracts team in managing contractual obligations and resolving any potential disputes.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and waste collection companies, to ensure compliance with environmental and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Implement, create, or edit SOPRAs, working procedures, and risk assessments as needed.
  • Participate in specific projects and assignments aimed at continuous improvement on site.
  • Project planning / monitoring / reporting for all Projects that they are involved with.
  • Work with the Community Benefits Officer on STEM programmes
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to assist the smooth operation of the site.
  • Represent the company at external meetings and events as required
  • Complete training to aid the delivery of the role (internal and external courses)

Qualifications

  • University level

 

Experience

  • Full driving licence is desirable, but not essential.

  • Basic Engineering skills / knowledge (Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation)
  • MS Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Analytical skills e.g. spread sheets, simple Access database

  • Basic awareness or experience of business practices
  • Understanding of RWT processes and technologies.
  • Knowledge of financial principles and accounting practices.
