You're Hired! Lord Sugar encourages students to follow their passion

This week, we are excited to be celebrating Industrial Cadets Awards Week 2021 in partnership with GFG Foundation, GSK and Leidos. We will be celebrating the achievements of young people who have taken part in an Industrial Cadets experience across the UK.

To kick-off the week, Tom Johnson from one of our supporting companies, Hernshead Recruitment, sat down with Lord Sugar to get his advice for EDT students.

Lord Sugar shares some valuable advice to young people looking to pursue a career in their chosen sector. He says:

“I think that anybody who wants to go into work or into a business, has to really have a passion for it. So, it’s no good waking up one Monday morning and saying I fancy doing this or doing that. There has got to be a real reason for it, either some expertise already gained in that sector and most importantly, that you enjoy doing what you want to do.”

Thank you to Hernshead for your support and Lord Sugar for sharing your views.

Our Industrial Cadets Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 24th November where we will also be announcing our winners across Industrial Cadets Challenger, Bronze, Silver and Gold level. This will be followed by GSK “Meet the Mentor” panel where GSK Industrial Placement students will be answering questions from our students.

Our Industrial Cadets Platinum Awards ceremony and networking drinks takes place on Thursday 25th November. We will be profiling our Industrial Cadets Platinum Award finalists and announcing the winner.
