EDT appoint Stand agency to promote STE(A)M opportunities

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

We are delighted to appoint Stand agency to support us in tackling the STE(A)M (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) skills gap by promoting opportunities for young people. We’re excited to have Stand agency’s support in endorsing us as the charity that helps prepare the next generation with the necessary skills for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

With a focus on Industrial Cadets Week, Stand will be promoting access to STE(A)M without barriers and support our goal of helping young people achieve their potential, as well as helping them to make informed decisions about their future.

Industrial Cadets was inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales, after he said, during a visit to Tata Steel, that he’d like to see manufacturing companies doing more to engage with young people, to raise awareness of industry and job opportunities. The Prince of Wales is a Patron for Industrial Cadets.

Laura Oliphant, Managing Director of Stand Agency said,

“We’re delighted to be appointed by EDT. With the UK currently experiencing a STE(A)M skills crisis, our campaign will address this, as well as the lack of diversity in the STE(A)M workforce. We want young people to see there are alternative routes of education available to them, and that jobs in these industries aren’t just for a privileged few.”

Penny Tysoe, Projects Director at EDT said:

“After an impressive pitch, we are delighted to be working with Stand Agency. Their support will help us to open young people’s eyes to the exciting potential of a career in STE(A)M and help create access to STE(A)M without barriers. They showed a real understanding of our aims and charitable mission, immediately connected with what we are trying to achieve and we’re looking forward to a really great campaign.”
