Contribution to the Business Awards (CTTB) Scotland

Updated: Oct 27

We are delighted to welcome SP Energy Networks as host partner for this year's Scottish Final of the Year In Industry(YINI) Contribution to the Business Awards (CTTB). The event will be held at ScottishPower's new flagship headquarters in Glasgow, on Friday 29th June.

SP Energy Networks have been valued supporters of YINI for a number of years and we would like to thank them for their ongoing support.

The CTTB Awards celebrate the achievements of YINI students placed with companies across Scotland, who have seized the opportunity to gain a valuable paid year-long placements prior to starting their career pathway after school or as an undergraduate sandwich year. YINI allows these ambitious young people the chance to complement their academic achievements with hands-on experience of the world of work. Working on business improvement projects set by their company, they have applied their ingenuity, creativity, and STE(A)M-knowledge to devise a solution that will bring real-life benefits to a business.

if you would like to meet the current YINI students and learn more about their placement projects, we have guest spaces available. Please contact Caroline Jardine-Smith by email c.jardine-smith@etrust.org.uk for further details.

2017 CTTB Scotland winner, Tom Stavert implemented a manufacturing cell for the Metron line of products produced by Chemring Energetics, using lean manufacturing tools in order to increase efficiency and reduce waste. The success of Tom’s project led to expected labour savings for Chemring of over £70K per annum.
