EDT have put together a series of easy-to-do STE(A)M experiments and wordsearches to carry out while you are at home. We hope you find them fun and interesting, and that you learn a little more about the STEM that is all around us in our every day lives.

This interactive learning experience is designed for young people to excite and enlighten you about how STEM can be fun, interesting, and result in a rewarding career. If you win, this experience could be held at your school for you and all your classmates!

Funded schools and companies are eligible to apply for an Industrial Cadets award
The Industrial Cadets Challenger award is available to schools who were due to
take part in a funded EDT Experience Day, which was cancelled due to Covid-19.
to the children of employees whose company partners with EDT to deliver programmes.
Please Note that only funded schools and companies are eligible for the Industrial Cadets Challenger award, however the First Edition STEAM day competition is available to all.
Industrial Cadets is an industry-led accreditation inspired by HRH Prince of Wales, Patron of Industrial Cadets.

A student's perspective of EDT's
STEAMstars Competition T&C’s
This competition is being run by the Engineering Development Trust, Weltech Centre, The Ridgeway, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 2AA.
This competition is open to young people from Year 4 to Year 9 (P5 to S2 Scotland).
This competition is open to all schools in mainland Scotland, England and Wales.
Entries must be received by 31st July 2020 and the winning school will be announced on our website by 14th September 2020.
The judging will take place in August and the EDT team will assess the entries based upon quality and originality and choose the winning entry. EDT’s decision on the winner is final.
Claiming your prize
The winning entry will win an EDT Experience Day for their whole year group. Where year groups are bigger than 80 students, the event would consist of 2 x half day events taking place on the same day for up to 80 students per session. The maximum number of students to receive this experience is 160.
The EDT Experience Day will be held on the school premises with consent from the school staff. An information pack will be sent out to the relevant teacher detailing all the arrangements to be made ahead of the day.
The EDT Experience Day must be claimed by the school by 31st December 2020 and organised to take place within the school academic year 2020/21.
The winning school will consent to pre and post event PR predominantly on our website and social media.
In case of any unforeseen events or circumstances beyond our control that prevent us from delivering the experience (such as lockdown, travel restrictions, staffing issues), we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize or reschedule.
