Industrial Cadets Week
EDT is committed to offering young people the opportunity to experience high-quality interactions with businesses and educators across the UK
This year, to celebrate 50,000 young people taking part in Industrial Cadet experiences across the UK, we are holding an Industrial Cadets week which will be taking place in Autumn 2019. The event-packed week will bring together young people, industry and educators to celebrate achievements, build partnerships and inspire future generations of STE(A)M innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses and educators.
Throughout the week, there will be employer/partner events, activities and record attempts with the support of our sponsors, driving a campaign to showcase the importance of engagement with young people.
On the 20th November, EDT will be launching the South Lanarkshire Go4SET programme which will be accredited at Industrial Cadets Bronze level. This will be in partnership with Viridor, at South Lanarkshire Council Headquarters, Banqueting Hall. We are expecting 14 schools from across South Lanarkshire to attend each with a team of 6 12-13 year-olds. The students will meet a local industry mentor who will support the team through the 10 week programme. During the launch, the pupils will choose between various environmentally themed STEM projects to complete.
