Business Management/Leadership Training

As part of the YINI student placement scheme, we offer all students the chance to attend a management training course.  The aim of the course is to cover a range of management topics in a workshop environment and will give students a chance to reflect on their placement to date and share experiences with other YINI students as well as gaining an initial basic understanding of management issues and processes.

Taking a management leadership course is a valuable tool in shaping your futures, as well another qualification on your CV it also provides an opportunity to meet other YINI students and make new friends for university and beyond.

Although we aim to provide this training for all placement students, due to funding restrictions this course may not be available for everyone.

Please note: there will be regional variations in the management course.

Loughborough Maths Course

This course is university level maths and consists of a series of modules, which represent almost half of the first year maths course taken by all first year M Eng students at Loughborough.  The course has been discussed with admission tutors from other universities and they strongly support their future students maintaining and increasing their maths proficiency by studying this course during their gap-year.

Students who complete the Maths course find their first year at university much easier, those that don't often wish they had!

The course involves approximately 35 hours work during the academic year, which is done by distance learning, and details are available at http://bestmaths.lboro.ac.uk/  There would be a small charge of £115  (20010-11)

If you have taken A level maths and plan to use this at university for engineering, technology, mathematics, science or economics courses we strongly recommend you to join this university level maths course.
