EDT delivers a range of tasters, projects and placements aimed at 9-21 year olds, in order to provide exposure to industry, business and higher education. We want to help students develop employability skills, to gain hands-on experience and to make informed choices at key stages in their education. We are also able to offer an accreditation for workplace experiences through Industrial Cadets, aimed at 11-19 year olds.
Within our portfolio we provide a range of experiences in order to suit the requirements of young people, employers and educators across the UK:
First Edition - for 9-16 yr olds. Hands-on STE(A)M activity days
STEM Family Challenge - Hands of STE(A)M experiences at schools engaging young people and family members
Go4SET for 12-14 yr olds – Environmentally themed 10 week STE(A)M projects
Routes into STEM for 14-15 yr olds - 3 day STE(A)M course visiting a college, a university and a company
Engineering Education Scheme (England & Scotland) for 16/17 yr olds. Real life 6 month STE(A)M projects
Inspire for 15/16 yr old girls - 3 day STE(A)M experience residential or non-residential courses at university
Headstart for 16/17 yr olds – STE(A)M experience courses at university
The Year in Industry - paid career development work placements
Most of our schemes are accredited by the Industrial Cadets. Industrial Cadets is a national standard for workplace experiences, inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales – to ensure that young people develop skills by taking part in these accredited experiences.
