Year 11 Girls - Study Skills Courses
Inspire – Year 11 /Scottish YR4 Girls
Are you a year 11 / S4 girl who would like to learn new skills and get ahead in the sixth form – and beyond? Do you love science, technology, engineering and maths – then read on!
Headstart is delighted to launch two brand new interactive courses where you will be introduced to essential key skills to use during your academic career, and throughout your professional and personal life. For 3 days, you’ll be involved in exciting projects, which will give you a flavour of different engineering disciplines and you will have the chance to learn how to:
• get well organised
• manage your time effectively and efficiently
• enhance your research and revision techniques
• develop your presentation techniques
• write top class reports
• take useful notes
• run a successful project
• become an invaluable member of a team
Attending one of these courses will mean that you will have priority when applying for a place on a Headstart Year 12 course the following year. Universities hold Headstart courses in high regard when considering students’ UCAS applications.
Where and when are these courses being run?
You can book onto one of two courses at:
• Newcastle University.
This 3 day, fully residential course which runs from 9 July 2012 to 11 July 2012 and costs £155, which includes tuition, accommodation and food.
