THE BUSINESS OF RECYCLING
The ‘Business of Recycling’ project is to investigate how materials are used and disposed of within a school and identify ways to reduce waste, the impact on the environment and save or even make money for the school.
The ‘Create Sport Project’ is to look at creative, innovative but practical ideas for a new sports venue. This can be for a new or existing sport but it must include energy use, impact on the environment, and making the facility sustainable.
OUR ELECTRONICS ENVIRONMENT
Written in collaboration with the UKESF (United Kingdom Electronic Skills Foundation) the ‘Our Electronics Environment’ project is to develop an innovative proposal for an electronic device or SMART system which will make a significant improvement to the problem(s) posed.
WATER AND YOUR SCHOOL
The ‘Water and your School’ project is to identify a suitable building, part of a school or the whole school and look at ways of reducing how much water is used through reducing waste and or by finding water from other sources.
MY SCHOOL IS AN ISLAND
The ‘My School is an Island’ project (sponsored by Seafarers UK) is to think of the school as an island and transform it so it can be a fully functioning island setting. This can be located anywhere in the world but it must include energy use, impact on the environment, and making the facility sustainable.
STATIONS OF THE FUTURE
The ‘Stations of the Future’ project (sponsored by Network Rail) is to identify a suitable railway station, research the history, current status and think of ways to make the station and general journey experience better.
The ‘Eco Hotel’ project is to design a new Eco Friendly Hotel which uses new, sustainable and environmentally friendly ways to create the energy it needs to run.
MY HEALTHY SCHOOL
The ‘My Healthy School’ project (sponsored by BP) is to think about the school environment and recommend solutions to make the school a healthier place for everyone: pupils, teachers, support staff and visitors.
MY MONEY, MY TECHNOLOGY
The ‘My Money, My Technology’ project (sponsored by MasterCard) is to research the technology of money in the past, then identify current technologies and think about new technologies that could change the way we spend and track money.
ENERGY AND YOUR SCHOOL
The ‘Energy and your School’ project is to look at ways of saving energy around the school, taking into the consideration new and innovative solutions to cutting energy waste and costs.
THE ECO CLASSROOM
‘The Eco Classroom’ project is to provide recommendations for a new build eco-classroom in the school. This can be for a new or existing classroom but it must include energy use, impact on the environment, and making the facility sustainable.
