Gordon Mizner - Chief Executive

Gordon studied Aeronautical Engineering at London University. He spent nearly 30 years working for the Royal Dutch Shell group of companies in a variety of functions including research, product management relating to renewable and conventional fuels and lubricants, and latterly general management in the UK, South Africa, Indian Ocean and Africa. Returning to London in 2002 he became Vice President - Commercial Fuels & Bitumen in Shell International Petroleum Co.

Since joining EDT as CEO in 2005, Gordon has been involved in significant developments since, including the national roll-out of Industrial Cadets, an industry-led accreditation, which allows employers to run accredited experiences for young people, creating a talent pipeline for UK industry.



Gennie Dearman - Chief Operating Officer

Gennie is the Chief Operating Officer at EDT. Currently Gennie is responsible for all the main operations of the EDT delivered through the regional structure and the IT team, ensuring overall quality and consistency meets/exceeds expectations.

Gennie has worked for the charity sector since 2005 and has developed national and international campaigns engaging business with young people and their community, and has delivered a number of government funded projects related to youth strategy. Gennie is also the Chair of the Canal and River Trust Volunteering Advisory Board and a Trustee of Hillview Medical Charitable Trust.




Mark Williams - Education Director

Mark is currently the Education Director for national education charity The EDT, who focus on getting young people into employment and industry. During his 18 years at EDT, Mark has been integral to the success of the Engineering Education Scheme, Go4SET and more recently Industrial Cadets.

Mark carries with him a weight of credibility, having the wealth of experience from 25 years of teaching, predominantly in Secondary but also in Further Education. Also a winner of the Stephenson Award (Worshipful Company of Engineers and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers) for outstanding contribution to the promotion of engineering as a career for young people, Mark’s whole life has been dedicated to the development of young people both from an educational and now from an industry perspective.
