Whilst in Sixth Form, Cara undertook a 6 month EDT engineering project supported by National Grid, which enabled her to develop skills which she has implemented in her role at PA Consulting, as a Consultant Medical Engineer and more recently on her sabbatical as a Medical Device Engineer at Addenbrooke's Hospital, developing novel medical devices with clinicians.

During his Year in Industry Michael worked at SMMT Industry Forum (a Business Improvement consultancy focused on manufacturing sectors) in Birmingham. The year helped to improve his confidence and he was able to work on a project that had an estimated impact of up to £250k for the business.
